The Santa Fe Area Home Builders Assocation ...• writes the Governor's Green Building Tax Credit Legislation.• works with the State and City of Santa Fe to create a Green Building Standards Program.• produces its first Green Expo Show!• endorses the Santa Fe Community College local bond issue to increase training in the building trades.• creates a special SFAHBA/Remodelers Council project to help "Kindred Spirits" winterize their facilities.• celebrates an SFAHBA Membership Day.SFAHBA WRITES THE GOVERNORS GREEN BUILDING TAX CREDIT LEGISLATION Public hearings on the Sustainable Tax Credit Rules will be held October 2, at 1220 St. Francis Drive, Santa Fe - Porter Hall, 1st floor at 9AM. SFAHBA WORKS WITH THE STATE AND CITY OF SANTA FE TO CREATE A GREEN BUILDING STANDARDS PROGRAM. We are still working with the State of New Mexico for a Statewide Green program to go into effect January 1, 2008. Working with a Build Green collaboration with the City of Santa Fe to create and oversee a Citywide Green program including Historical applications. SFAHBA PRODUCES ITS FIRST GREEN EXPO SHOW. This show is scheduled for September 29 & 30th at the De Vargas Mall. We have 40 booths for this timely event, and are excited about establishing this as a yearly exposition for the general public to display the latest products and services in this field. Representatives from the County of Santa Fe; The City of Santa Fe, and, the State Construction Industries Division will be present to answer questions and explain programs. SFAHBA ENDORSES THE SANTA FE COMMUNITY COLLEGE LOCAL BOND ISSUE TO INCREASE TRAINING IN THE BUILDING TRADES. This bond PASSED with 88% of the voters supporting the issue! SFAHBA CREATES A SPECIAL SFAHBA/ REMODELERS COUNCIL PROJECT TO HELP “KINDRED SPIRITS” WINTERIZE THEIR FACILITIES. We have the list of materials and labor needed. Contact us at SFHBA for more information. Kindred Spirits is a non-profit organization to help house and care for elderly animals in their last days. SFAHBA CELEBRATES MEMBERSHIP DAY - FRIDAY, OCTOBER 12. Come to El Rancho De Las Golondrinas, from 4PM to 9:30PM. Mariachis, Hamburgers and more.
