We present a wide array of professionals in addition to Builders and Developers. These construction-related businesses include: architects, landscapers, interior designers, Remodelors, finance companies, as well as construction materials suppliers. Together we contribute to the growth, prosperity and quality of life our “City Different” has come to enjoy.

Home Builders Institute C-Core at Santa Fe Area Home Builders Association

Construction-Coaching Opportunities to Reach Employment (C-CORE)
HBI’s C-CORE program is an industry-sponsored mentoring program for youth with promise and untapped abilities. The program, funded by a three year grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, aims to match 5,000 youth aged 16 to 18 with over 1,600 industry mentors recruited from home builders associations, NAHB Student Chapters, other business organizations and local communities.

Construction Industries Commission Adopts 2009 Energy Conservation Standards

June 10, 2011: Construction Industries Commission Adopts 2009 Energy Conservation Standards

State Construction Industries Commission adopted new energy conservation standards that meet federal guidelines outlines in the2009 International Energy Conservation Codes.  In addition to adopting the 2009 federal standards, the Commission also began the process of adopting certain New Mexico-specific standards that acknowledge the state’s unique cultural and architectural heritage.  To read more, download the CID press release:  CID_PressRelease_Codes.pdf

400 Years of Sustainable Building

2010 is the Official 400 year Anniversary of the founding of Santa Fe by the Spanish.  The Santa Fe Area Home Builders Association joins with all Santa Feans in Celebrating 400 years of Shelter and “Santa Fe Style”. Look for the Haciendas-A Parade of Homes magazine & resource guide commemorating the Historic event and the 2010 Haciendas-A Parade of Homes on newsstands and sponsor location beginning July 30th. Haciendas-A Parade of Homes also is the Official Guide to the Parade with Builder Profiles, Maps and featuring the 2009 Parade Award winners.

City of Santa Fe Green Building Codes

The Santa Fe Area Home Builders Association members: Dalinda Bangert, Eco Terra Enterprises, Faren Dancer, Sundancer Creations, Kim Shanahan, Executive Officer and others spent hundreds of hours working with Katherine Mortimer, City of Santa Fe to draft the new Residential Green Building Codes.  To view the codes City of Santa Fe Green Building Codes
The Home Builders Association partnered with Habitat for Humanity and the City of Santa Fe to build a home under the new city of Santa Fe codes.
