Edward Mazria: Key Note Speaker: the 2030 Challenge
Edward Mazria is an internationally-recognized architect, author, educator and visionary with a long and distinguished career. His award-winning architecture and planning projects span over a thirty-five year period. He speaks nationally and internationally on the subject of architecture, design, energy and climate change and has taught architecture at several universities including the University of New Mexico, University of Oregon and UCLA.
Most recently, Mr. Mazria has reshaped the national and international dialogue on climate change to incorporate building design. He is the founder of Architecture 2030, an innovative and flexible research organization focused on protecting our global environment. He developed and issued The 2030 Challenge, a measured and achievable strategy to dramatically reduce global Green-House-Gas emissions and fossil-fuel consumption by the year 2030.
Faren Dancer – Green builder for much of the past thirty five years is President of Sundancer Creations, Custom Builders, Chairman of the Santa Fe Green Building Council, President of the Santa Fe Area Home Builders Association and LEED for Homes New Mexico Co-Chair. He is a driving force in sustainable educational outreach, green codes and building innovation.
Kerry Mitchell – Founded Green Real Estate Education in 2006 and her programs have trained and certified thousands over 3500 professionals in the past 15 months. 5000 more are scheduled through 2009. Her certification series is exclusively for the real estate industry educating on energy efficiency, sustainability and green building relating to each of the four major disciplines…Real Estate Professionals, Appraisers, Inspectors and Mortgage Professionals.
Jon R. Dougal – Green syndicated columnist is known internationally as an expert writer, speaker, tradeshow director and publisher on sustainable environmental and business development technologies. Jon is currently the Founder, Editor and Publisher of GreenSage eNewsLetter.
Cliff Majersik - LEED AP and Research Director for the Institute of Market Transformation (IMT) with focus on green building, energy efficiency and property value. He leads IMT education and outreach to the finance, appraisal and real estate sectors. He was a leader in crafting Washington’s Green Building Act. Mr. Majersik served as Director of the eProcurement Project and eBusiness Director for Conservation International’s Center for Environmental Leadership in Business.

The Santa Fe Green Building Council was established by the Santa Fe Area Home Builders Association January 1, 2008.
The Santa Fe Green Building Council has been working with the City of Santa Fe and other agencies to actively promote Green Building and Green Building practices.
The Council is recruiting the support of government, builders, and associated businesses by promoting membership in the Santa Fe Green Building Council. If you wish to become a member please complete the Green Council Membership Application, and a member of the Council will contact you.
The objectives of this Council are as follows:
a) To encourage ethical conduct, good business practices, and professionalism in the practice of green building.
b) To promote cooperative action in advancing by all lawful means the common purpose of its members.
c) To promote sustainable and energy efficient construction practices and homes in order to reduce the negative impact on the environment.
d) To reduce the carbon footprint of homes.
e) To sponsor educational programs and activities for the benefit of its members and the public.
f) To recommend such legislation and regulations which can help stimulate green building practices and to recommend corrective action for those laws, rules or regulations which tend to discourage or impede green building practices.
g) To promote the common business interests of those engaged in the green building industry.
h) To promote and administer programs to certify Green Building practices.
i) To conduct or engage in all lawful activities in furtherance of the foregoing purposes, or incidental thereto.
